Application Notes:
Students must live in York Region within Maple's IB catchment area at time of application. Please use YRDSB School Locator to check that you are in our catchment.
Be a student currently in Grade 8.
Registration Notes:
The York Region District School Board IB Programme application is completed centrally for all York Region IB Schools through the EDSBY platform. The central application is for offerings at Alexander Mackenzie High School, Bayview Secondary School, Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School, Maple High School, and Milliken Mills High School.
During the application process, the YRDSB IB School serving your home address will be identified.
Regrettably, we are not able to consider applicants who live outside of Maple High School's IB boundaries.
Application Process
Please be sure to complete the application during the application window. We are not able to accept late applications.
We do not recommend any special preparation or study for the admissions assessment.
Be advised individual results/standings will not be released. Submitting an application indicates that you understand and will adhere.

The application window will be open Friday, October 11, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. - Monday, November 4, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.
During the online registration, students will select a day to write an in-person assessment task: Wednesday, November 13, 2024 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. or Saturday, November 16, 2024 9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
Student Applicants will receive an email on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 by 4 p.m. with detailed instructions about how to format and submit the Portfolio
The Personal Portfolio will be formatted as a Google Slide Presentation
The Portfolio submission deadline is: 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024
During the EDSBY application, you will select an assessment day and time: Wednesday, November 13, 2024 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. or Saturday, November 16, 2024 9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
The assessment will be hosted at Maple High School.
During the session, applicants will receive a prompt and will have 40 minutes to plan, write and edit their response.
Students should bring pens or pencils to the complete the task.
